Gassy GaoGao wiki:Style guide
Structure
Pages should be written in an article structure. The lead section is an overview of the subject, with sections getting more in detail. Section names should be descriptive.
Writing
Use of second-person pronouns like "you" should be avoided.
Templates
The wiki uses some general templates. For usage of a template, see its page.
- For colors, use Template:Color swatch.
- Pages can be marked as stubs by using Template:Stub.
Naming
Capitalization is only used as the subject in sentence case. This also applies to headings.
When deciding on using singular or plural form for a page's title, consider if: it is describing a species. Singular form is usually preferred.
Categories are expected to use plural form. Templates are typically singular form.
Formatting
Numbers are written in word form when ranging single digits from zero to nine. If numbers are written in a table, they should always be written as digits.
Media
Where applicable, images should have descriptive text alternatives. Text alternatives not only help to assist low vision conditions, but it also adds context for everyone.
